AFGHANISTAN: Kabul’s interim administration has dispatched its delegation to the China BRI conference.

Afghanistan’s TOLO news reported that a delegation of an Islamic Emirate led by the industry minister, Noorudin Azizi, arrived in China on Tuesday to participate in the BRI summit expected to occur on October 17-18.

Delegation expected to meet Chinese officials

A Ministry of Trade and Industry spokesperson said the delegation is expected to meet Chinese investors and industrialists in China.

“The Belt and Road Initiative is an economic-commercial project in which Afghanistan can play a key role in the shortest way to countries of the Middle East, Europe, and the Gulf,” the spokesman said.

Experts are optimistic

TOLO news quoted Afghan economic analyst Siar Quraishi, saying that Afghanistan has an opportunity to offer its key geographical location to regional partners.

“The geographic location and natural resources of Afghanistan will give the country the opportunity to play a key role in the Belt and Road Initiative,” Siar said.
