WASHINGTON, March 11: US President Joe Biden raised $10 million on Sunday after a violent State of the Union speech where he accused former President Donald Trump of threatening democracy and obstructing the immigration bill.

During his address to Congress on Thursday, Biden also accused his Republican rival, Trump, of covering up the facts regarding the June 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol and bowing in front of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Biden and his Democratic allies raised a total of $42 million in fundraising in January.

According to Nielsen ratings, Biden’s State of the Union address was watched by 32.2 million people on 14 TV channels, which is an 18 percent increase compared to the last year.

The Biden campaign on Saturday announced a $30 million ad blitz for the next six weeks to strengthen its foothold in critical states.

Tough competition is expected between Biden and Trump at this time. According to a February Reuters survey, the former president has 37 percent support, while Biden’s support is 34 percent.
