LONDON/SANA’A: Britain has warned Yemen based Houthis of severe consequences if the latter didn’t cease their operations against ships in the Red Sea.
The warning came hours after Houthis launched a massive barrage of drone and missile attacks against commercial ships in the Red Sea.
The Naval forces of the United Kingdom and United States were quick to respond and managed to shot down 18 drones and three missiles.

Consequences will be severe
The United Kingdom’s defense secretary said the response will have severe consequences if Houthis don’t cease their attacks.
“The attacks launched by the Houthis are unacceptable and their consequences will be severe,” Grant Shapps, the UK defense secretary, said.
Shapps said the UK and US naval forces successfully “repelled the largest attack by the Iranian-backed Houthis in the Red Sea to date”.
In response, a military spokesperson for the Houthis said the attacks will continue until the siege of oppressed people is lifted.
