Czech President says Europe to focus on producing arms

PRAGUE, 19 March: President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel said that in the near future, European companies will make a large number of weapons for themselves and Ukraine.

Building cannon shells will take time and resources, but Ukraine urgently needs the shells right now, Pavel said.

The President added that we have to arrange arms from somewhere as soon as possible and deliver them to Ukraine, but we will also work on increasing our capabilities.

Pavel assured that European companies will produce an increased number of weapons to fill the stocks of the EU countries and deliver them to Ukraine as needed.

Pavel said that it is still not possible to imagine that Russia and Ukraine moving towards an agreement to end the war.

He further said that even a quid pro quo in the Russia-Ukraine war cannot completely win one side and destroy the other.

Ukraine is falling short of receiving key military aid as Republican-controlled House fails to approve much needed help amid Russia’s onslaught.

The situation can worsen further when pro-Putin Donald Trump takes the reigns of power in November.
