A new research study has concluded that the human behavioral crisis is the root cause of climate breakdown.
The study published in Sage Journals has suggested radical changes in order to overcome the catastrophic impact of climate change.
What is human behavioral crisis?
According to the research paper, “the term ‘behavioral crisis’ specifically to mean the consequences of the innate suite of human behaviors that were once adaptive in early hominid evolution but have now been exploited to serve the global industrial economy.”

Scientists believe that most climate solutions proposed so far only tackle symptoms rather than the root cause of the crisis.
This, they say, leads to increasing levels of the three “levers” of overshoot: consumption, waste, and population.
Joseph Merz, lead author of the research said that those who manipulate human beings into consumerism are leading humanity to a consequential future that humanity will never recover from.
The authors suggest the best strategy to counter overshoot would be to use the tools of the marketing, media, and entertainment industries in a campaign to redefine our material-intensive socially accepted norms.
