SRINAGAR: Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, RR Swain, ordered agencies to eliminate separatists hiding in high reaches in the Kashmir valley.

In a high-level security meeting, DGP said the separatists will not be allowed to come down in the winter season.

The Statesman reported that the Director General of CRPF chaired the security meeting, Dr Sujoy Lal Thaosen, and the Director General of Police, J&K RR Swain.

During the meeting, a wide range of security measures came under discussion, including the cross-border infiltration.

Statement

“The hiding terrorists in the upper reaches would make attempts to come down during the winters and this is the time for the forces to launch operations to neutralize them,” Thaosen said.

The top police officers also instructed security forces to thwart terror elements so that separatists have nothing to capitalize on.
