Iran warned Russia about terrorist attack

TEHRAN, 1 April: Iran informed Russia of the possibility of a major terrorist attack on its soil before the massacre at the Moscow concert hall last month, three sources told Reuters.

A few days before the concert attack, Iran warned Russia about a major attack, and this was known to Iran from the operatives of the group involved in the Kerman blast.

Iranian intelligence said they arrested 35 people involved in the January 3 blasts in the southeastern city of Kerman and were linked to IS- KP(An umbrella organization of ISIS).

Iran claimed that the detained terrorists claimed that some of its group’s fighters had gone to Russia and were planning operations there.

A source said that Iran had already informed but did not mention the exact time and target.

A senior security official said that Iran, which itself has been dealing with terrorism for many years, has proved to be a responsible state and has already alerted Russia to a potential terrorist attack.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry and the Kremlin declined to comment on the news.
