Israel will enter Rafah despite US opposition, Israeli minister says

TEL AVIV, 22 March: According to a senior Israeli official, Israel will take control of Rafah even if it causes differences with the United States.

Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer said that Rafah is a safe haven for the fighters of Hamas, which shelters one-fourth of the terrorist group members.

Statements of Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have caused friction between Israel and Washington.

Netanyahu has promised not to harm innocent people during the operation, and Israel’s top officials will discuss this with US President Joe Biden at the White House.

Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer says, “We think we can do this very well not only on a military basis but also on a humanitarian basis.”

The former Israeli ambassador to the United States, Dermer, says that Rafah will talk to the United States about the operation, but will occupy the city in any case, even if there is no consensus between us. We will fight this war even if it is alone and even if the whole world, including the United States, opposes us, we will continue to fight this war, he said.
