KABUL: The Afghan defense minister Mullah Yaqub has claimed that those behind the attacks in Afghanistan are either Tajiks or Pakistanis.
Mr. Yaqub’s statement came in response to the accusations of Pakistan, who accuses Afghanistan of providing safe heavens to the TTP terrorists.
Mr. Yaqub urged the “countries through whom foreign evil elements enter Afghanistan to strictly control their land and air borders.”
Quote:
“The number of attackers constitutes Tajiks at first, followed by Pakistanis. These terrorists were killed in operations conducted by the Islamic Emirate, and dozens of others are in prisons currently,” Mullah Yaqub said.
“Hundreds of Pakistanis have been killed and hundreds have been arrested by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan security forces”, RTA Pashto reported.
“In the attacks on mosques، monasteries، scholars and civilian gatherings in Afghanistan، foreign nationals، especially Tajiks and Pakistanis، have been used”, Mullah Yaqub said.
Afg-Pak blame game
The relationship between Afghanistan and Pakistan have dropped to an all time low and both countries are blaming each other for terrorist attacks inside their territories.
Afghanistan’s senior official and governor of Kandahar province, Mullah Sherin Akhund, is also expected to visit Pakistan in the coming weeks to resume bilateral relations.
