Muslims in India have demanded Prime Minister Modi to lay the foundation of the much-awaited mosque Muhammad or Ayodhya.
The construction of the Ayodhya mosque was announced by the Indian Supreme Court to replace the Babri Masjid.
Muslims request Modi
The president of the Indian Muslim League said, “Our PM is coming to Ayodhya on an auspicious occasion. We, on behalf of Muslim brothers, request him (PM Modi) to lay the foundation stone of the Mohammad Bin Abdullah, Dhannipur mosque,”
The land dispute
The matter has been resolved per the guidelines of the Indian Supreme Court ruling in 2019. The Supreme Court allotted five acres of land to the Muslims to construct the Muhammad Mosque in place of Babri masjid.
In 1992, a Hindu mob reduces the Babri masjid to rubble. At least 2,000 people, mostly Muslims, were killed when riots erupted after the demolition.
