The report published by the Pentagon said that China has built critical infrastructure, including new roads, helipads, bridges, and an airport with the Indian border.
According to the report of the Indian news agency “The Wire“, in the Pentagon’s 2023 annual report “China’s Military and Security Progress” presented by the Pentagon presented to Congress, China’s People’s Liberation Army started building infrastructure along the Indian border after a brief encounter against the Indian forces in 2020, that left 20 dead in the Galwan river valley in Ladakh.

Chinese infrastructure
The infrastructure includes “underground storage facilities near Doklam, new roads in all three sectors of the LAC, new villages in disputed areas in neighboring Bhutan, a second bridge over Pangong Lake, a dual-purpose airport near the center sector, and multiple helipads,” the report mentioned.
China increasing manpower
The report also mentioned that China has been increasing its manpower along the Indian border since 2022.
The Pentagon report also asserted that China is rapidly expanding its nuclear arsenal, preparing for a future conflict as it threatened self-ruled Taiwan.
According to the Pentagon, China is expected to have at least 1,000 nuclear weapons by 2030.
