Polish President says country can host NATO nuclear weapons

WARSAW, 22 April: The Polish President Andrzej Duda said in an interview on Monday that Poland could host nuclear weapons if NATO allows it.

Duda stressed that the move would deter Russia from advancing towards Eastern Europe. Duda made these remarks in an interview with the Fakt newspaper, after his visit to the US.

Poland to host nuclear weapons

Duda said that “if our allies decide to deploy nuclear arms on our territory as part of nuclear sharing, to reinforce NATO’s eastern flank, we are ready to do so.”

He also revealed that Poland has been increasingly cooperating with the United States on nuclear weapons.

The statement came a day after the US House of Representatives approved a much needed aid package worth $61 billion after months of delay.

Experts believe that sharing nuclear technology with Poland is an option but that will break an all-out war in the region.
