MOSCOW, 21 Feb: Republican senator and Trump’s close ally Lindsey Graham has been added to the list of “terrorists and extremists” by Russia’s state financial monitoring agency for being vocal about arming Ukraine.

TASS, Russian state-run media, quoted Rosefinmonitoring, which allows authorities to freeze Russian bank accounts, though Graham’s case seems symbolic.

Graham tweeted sarcastically on Tuesday, “there goes all my rubles!”

According to the opensanctions.org website, Rosefinmonitoring lists include more than 1,200 individuals and more than 400 companies, as well as domestic and foreign terrorists and Russian political opposition groups.

Graham was a senator who vocally advocated arming Ukraine against Russian invasion, and Russia once also issued an arrest warrant for his “Russophobic comments” during his Kyiv visit in 2023.

Graham also blames Putin for Navalny’s murder and suggests that Russia should be declared a state sponsoring terrorism.

Nonetheless, Graham is a close ally of Trump, and the general perception of them is that they are favouring Russia.

This month, Graham voted against a $95 billion aid package to Ukraine and stated that this should be turned into a loan instead of aid.
