Russian drone strikes in Kharkiv kills 8

KYIV, 6 March: The Russian military stormed Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, killing six people and injuring 10, according to Ukrainian authorities.

Ukrainian police say that the attack was carried out by drones, they also shared pictures of the affected area.

Eight people were killed and 10 wounded in the late-night attack on Shevchenkivskyi district, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said.

The attack was carried out in a residential area in which 9 high-rise buildings, 3 dormitories, administrative buildings, shops, vehicles, and markets were damaged.

The city of Kharkiv has been a constant target of the Russian military for some time now.

On Wednesday, Russian drones attacked Kharkiv, killing 4 people and causing extensive damage to infrastructure.

Andriy Yermak, chief of staff to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said in an interview with Politico on Thursday that Russia could launch another major attack on Kharkiv in May or June.

Air red alerts were issued in several areas, including Kharkiv and Kyiv, for several hours after the attack.
