MOSCOW, 8 March: Col Vladimir Zarudnitsky, a senior Russian military officer and head of the Military Academy, has warned that the Ukraine war could turn into a full-scale war in Europe as the possibility of Moscow’s involvement in the new war is increasing, according to the state news agency RIA.
“The possibility of a large-scale war in Europe cannot be eliminated due to the inclusion of new proxies to fight against Russia in the Ukraine war”, Colonel Zarudnitsky said.
The real threat to our state is the anti-Russian policies of the United States and the NATO alliance, which has launched a new type of hybrid war to weaken Russia and destroy our territorial integrity, RIA quoted Zarudnitsky.
Attempts to deliberately push our country into a new conflict could trigger a new and larger war, Zarudnitsky said.
The Ukraine war has brought relations between the West and Russia to its most contentious point since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has already threatened nuclear war if NATO deploys its troops to Ukraine.
