RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has asked the United States to show restraint in responding to Houthi attacks in the Red Sea.

Reuters reported that two sources within the Saudi administration have revealed that the Kingdom was worried about the potential spillover of war in the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia fears escalation

The crisis in the Middle East has already jeopardized the peace process between the Saudi monarchy and the US-backed Jewish state.

According to Foreign Affairs, the war has shocked Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to the core.

The prince wants stability in the region, which will guarantee the success of his ambitious VISION 2023 plan.

“The war leaves Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, also known as MBS, in a difficult position, at least in the short term. He craves regional stability, which would make it easier for him to pursue his goal of diversifying Saudi Arabia’s economy and reducing its reliance on oil exports”, it wrote.
