19 March: Three right-wing groups have filed a lawsuit against President Biden and his administration against the Virginia power project, alleging that the project did not take into account precautions for endangered whales.
The Heartland Institute, the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), and the National Legal and Policy Center filed the lawsuit against the Dominion Power Wind project because the project has harmed North Atlantic whales.
Developing offshore wind power has been a main goal of the Biden administration because it would decarbonize fossil fuels, which would be effective in countering climate change.
The Heartland Institute and CFACT rejected the government’s claims and said that climate change is caused by human activities and fuel emissions.
The groups that filed the case say the project’s biological analysis did not address the plan’s overall impacts on whale populations.
James Taylor, president of the Heartland Institute, says the NMFS’s biological analysis is a classic example of evading the protection of endangered species like whales.
Such policies for such rare animals are clear evidence of the climate alarmism of the Biden administration.
