US is almost out of money for Ukraine, White House warns

WASHINGTON: The White House has warned Congress that it’s falling short of funds to help Ukraine fight Russia.

The Congress and the Senate were informed by the White House that funds for Ukraine will run out by the end of 2023.

The letter mentioned that the United States needed more time and money to assist Ukraine in standing on its feet against Russian aggression.

No Money, No Time

The Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young wrote to the leaders of the House and Senate that the Biden administration has no time and money to support Ukrainian efforts.

“We are out of money to support Ukraine in this fight,” Young wrote.

“This isn’t a next year problem. The time to help a democratic Ukraine fight against Russian aggression is right now. It is time for Congress to act.” the letter mentioned.

Funding for Ukraine

Funding for Ukraine has become a bone of contention for the Biden administration as it swells the Ukrainian kitty.

Congress has already allocated $110 billion, including $67 billion in military aid for Ukraine. Mrs. Young said that previous assistance had already been deleted.
