US-Led Coalition Strikes Houthi Targets, Yemen Says

ADDEN, Yemen, March 12: The US-British coalition bombed port cities and small areas while defending its commercial ships in Yemen, killing 11 people and wounding 14, a Yemeni government spokesman told Reuters.

According to Houthi TV Al-Masirah, 17 airstrikes were reported on Hodeida port and Ras Issa port.

The bombing operation was launched due to the first civilian casualties in the expeditions launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab in solidarity with the Palestinians.

Despite operations and airstrikes by the US-led coalition and other naval power states, the Houthis have increased their operations and attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea i-e the busiest shipping route in the world.

Three crew members were killed in Houthi attacks on the Barbados-flagged and Greek-operated True Confidence ship on Wednesday. The attack took place a few days after the sinking of the Rubymar.

Due to these attacks, the United States along with its allies continue to conduct airstrikes against the Houthi rebels from time to time.
