WASHINGTON, 4 March: US Vice President Kamala Harris urged Hamas to agree to a ceasefire and demanded that Israel allow aid to reach Gaza as the situation in Palestine is a humanitarian disaster.

Kamala pressurized the Israeli government and offered a specific outline of how aid access could improve conditions for the famine-stricken people of Gaza.

An immediate ceasefire is needed looking into the inhumane situation in Gaza, Harris said. “The deal is on the table and Hamas must agree for a ceasefire”, Harris stressed.

“People are starving in Gaza. The situation is inhumane and our common humanity demands that we take action.” A Hamas delegation arrived in Cairo on Sunday for a new round of talks to discuss a ceasefire, but there have been no tangible outcome.
