WASHINGTON, 4 April: Former US President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in six states ahead of the 2024 election, according to a new poll.
Poll conducted by the Wall Street Journal reveals that voters raised objections to the 81-year-old Biden’s mental health, poor economic policies and the issue of immigration.
The poll published Wednesday showed that Trump, 77, led by 1 to 3 percentage points in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Georgia while leading by more than 4 points in North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada.
There was also a head-to-head contest between Trump and Biden in the state of Wisconsin, but Biden prevailed due to the support of candidates outside the party.
In the 2020 election, Biden won all six states except North Carolina due to the support of young, black and Hispanic voters.
The survey also asked who is the most suitable person for the office of president, Trump or Biden, in response to which 51% of people said that Trump is suitable for the presidency, while 38% of support came in favor of Biden.
